Monkey Hangers Lose Keeper Appeal

Hartlepool have lost their appeal against goalkeeper Arran Lee-Barrett's sending off at the weekend, and he will miss Saturday's match.

The 25 year old, who has been a virtual ever-present this season, was judged to have denied ex-Bulls loanee Theo Robinson a goalscoring chance when pulling him down during their match with Southend on Friday night. The Pools appealed on the basis that it was not a goalscoring chance, and the matter should only have been a yellow card but have been told by the FA that their appeal was unsucessful.

They will now turn to Danish stopper Jan Budtz who played twice for them in December, and had a three match spell at Oldham that ended with the dismissal of manager John Sheridan after conceding six at MK Dons.
