News Round Up

Cheltenham are paying very little for new signing Frankie Artus, with boss Martin Allen telling the press: "I managed to get Frankie in yesterday afternoon and Gary Johnson has done us a favour. It was Mothering Sunday, so not too many people were answering their phones because when they see it's me, they know I want players for nothing or for £100 a week, but we have got him in on the cheap." Artus will be their 44th player of the season.

Crewe will cut their squad size next season as boss Gudjon Thordarson thinks he is neglecting some of the players as he has too many. Bradford have been propped up with a £1million loan by joint chairman Mark Lawn. He has warned that their cheap season tickets will end if less than 10,000 take up the current £175 offer. Just 6,500 have taken the deal with a week left.

Walsall striker Troy Deeney is claimed to be interesting Wigan. The 20 year old has scored nine times in the last 15 games. Chester's takeover remains uncompleted. The prospective new owner is meeting with the club's creditors this week, including the PFA, and hopes to submit planning applications for his proposed redevelopment within a month.
