Oldham are to discipline striker Lee Hughes after he had a drunken fight with manager John Sheridan during a boozy trip to a greyhound track. Reports say Hughes had Sheridan in a headlock as the pair tussled before veteran keeper Mark Crossley stepped in. Swindon are trying to sign Swansea midfielder Owain Tudur Jones on loan after Bristol City's David Noble rejected a move.
The local consortium bidding for Bournemouth has an 'agreement in principle' to buy the club with the other bidders, the Middle East consortium, dragging their heels. Crewe hope to bring loanee Marlon Broomes back into the club after he was recalled by Blackpool due to an injury crisis. The defender was recalled on Friday, but they kept it quiet until the team sheets were released at 2pm before announcing the recall.
Chester have cut admission prices from £15 to £10 for all their remaining games in a bid to halt supporter apathy towards the club. Port Vale have had several offers of investment, but not one of them could prove funds. Chairman Bill Bratt claims to have ploughed his life savings into keeping the club afloat.
