Turner looks for pace

Talking to the Worcester News, Hereford United manager Graham Turner is hopeful that the addition of two new loan players will injet a bit of pace into the side.

“If you looked at when we had Lionel Ainsworth here we had pace and, with losing Matt for a period of time, I was conscious that we needed to get some pace back,” Turner said.

“The pitches are quite hard and bobbly now and hopefully this injection of pace will help our cause.”

Turner was pleased with the three points from Carlisle.

“It has perked everyone up nicely,” Turner said. “To go to Carlisle in atrocious conditions and bring back three points is quite an achievement. What we need to do now, to give us a chance of staying up, is make it back-to-back wins tomorrow.

“That will give the players extra confidence and belief that we can do it.”

Turner has also spoken about Marc Pugh, his new loan signing from Shrewsbury.

"He hasn't had a lot of opportunity at Shrewsbury with the change of manager," Turner told the OS

"I've seen him play several times and I think he's got pace, he's got potental.

"We need some pace in the side and Mark should provide that."
