One of the first predictions of how well Hereford United will do this season has come from Wraggs to Riches, a Macclesfield site. And it makes grim reading for anyone who takes these predictions seriously.
They predict the Bulls will finish 19th - and they've given their reasons.
Who's the Guvnor?
Well after long serving boss Graham Turner stepped down the Bulls appointed John Trewick as first team manager. John's first act as Hereford United manager was to offer Jamie Tolley a 12 month deal. Ha ha ha!! I'd almost feel smug that we'd got Keith instead of this brain dead moronic idiot until my subconscious reminded me that the great one had actually handed Dolley two 6 month deals since he'd taken over.
John had actually been first team coach at Hereford since 2004 and during that time had seen Hereford gain promotion on two seperate occasions. Trewick was also once Newcastle United's record signing when they paid West Brom £250,000 for him in 1980.
What do we reckon then about this season?
The lads at W2R HQ reckon that this season will be a knowing me - knowing you session for the Bulls. In the 2007/08 season Hereford really did punch above their weight and somehow managed to grab an automatic promotion place.
They struggled badly in League One last season and with a distinct lack of quality signings at Edgar Street during pre-season well..... it'll be a long hard season ahead for the Bulls fans.
Who will it all hinge on?
Kenny Lunt - Hereford's new signing is one of many players to emerge from the Crewe Alexandra Academy - alongside Dean Ashton, Rob Hulse and Danny Murphy. Lunt has a wealth of experience at alot higher level than league two having enjoyed spells at both Crewe and Sheffield Wednesday.
Kenny promises to forge a frightening midfield partnership with Jamie Tolley (snigger - snigger).
Odds for the title
28/1 - I can think of better ways of spending my money..
Wraggs to Riches prediction
19th - An unspectacular season for Hereford.
