Championship Clubs look at Mkandawire

Former Hereford United captain Tamika Mkandawire has been the subject of attention from several Championship clubs according to the Romford Press.

Millwall are understood to have had a bid turned down for the Leyton Orient defender.

Mkandawire says he's happy at Orient despite the transfer speculation.

"I just try and concentrate and block it out and stay focused," he said.

"As far as I'm concerned, I'm an Orient player and I'm looking forward to the new season."

Update: - Scunthorpe United boss Nigel Adkins is being linked with a move for Leyton Orient defender Tamika Mkandawire. A fee of £700,000 is being mentioned in some quarters.

The 26-year-old is reportedly eyeing a move away from the Mathroom Stadium and would welcome a move to the Championship. Mkandawire still has a year left on his current deal with Orient but Adkins is said to be ready to make a move as he looks to bolster his defensive options. (From Clubcall.com)
