News Round Up

Nick Chadwick will not be getting a contract at Darlington after a lacklustre performance in their match with Hamilton last night. Kris Taylor will only get a Port Vale contract if they can free up money within their budget. Micky Adams hopes they can find more money before the start of the season, but may have to offload a player first.

Shrewsbury striker Grant Holt is the subject of renewed rumours of a move to Norwich after he missed last night's friendly with West Brom. Manager Paul Simpson would only state the player was 'unavailable' sparking further rumours. Notts County's new owners are yet to pass the League's 'fit and proper persons' test. The actual ownership of the club remains shrouded in mystery with the almost untracable companies involved administered by a Swiss bank.

Bradford have agreed a termination over Paul Arnison's contract, and the player is now expected to join Darlington. The Bantams have signed striker James Hanson from Guiseley for a fee to be decided. Darlington themselves have changed their minds over previously announced 'signings' Craig James and Ben Starosta. Aldershot have signed goalkeeper Clark Masters on a one year contract. He spent last season at Southend, but never made a first team appearance.

Chester will sack banned pair Jay Harris and David Mannix following their bans for betting. Forest Green say they will not comment on Andrew Mangan's status until any appeals process is exhaused, with the club warning the press that they have nothing to do with the case. Bury are to lose striker Andy Bishop for the first month of the season as he goes under the knife for a double hernia operation.
