Forest Green have announced that they have sacked Bulls legend Jimmy Harvey, three weeks after he says they did the deed.
Harvey says he was dismissed on July 29th and is seeking compensation for the 'procedural failings' of his dismissal. Now Forest Green have, apparently, completed those steps - and have formally sacked Harvey for breach of contract after he refused to attend an August 10th meeting to discuss the allegations.
They say Harvey had previously spoke to another club without permission, and signed a new contract afterwards with a specific clause relating to future approaches. They then say Harvey chased another job and 'was prepared not to properly attend to his duties at a match involving Forest Green Rovers FC so he could make himself available for interview at this other club.'
FGR have extended ex-Bull David Brown's tenure as caretaker boss at the club, and have brought in former York manager Colin Walker to assist him.
