The Grimsby Telegraph is reporting that Mike Newell’s squad expects to be boosted by the return of some players from injury ahead of Saturday’s match with the Bulls at Blundell Park.
Striker Adrian Forbes has returned to training this week following knee surgery on an injury picked up at Stockport in pre-season. The Mariners boss said: "Forbesy has been back in training and while he won't be fully match-fit, he's the sort of player who will run himself into the ground for you. He is naturally fit so, as long as everything's technically sound with his knee, he may just give us an option from the start.”
Defensive trio, Matt Heywood, Paul Linwood and Rob Atkinson have also trained having been previously thought doubtful for the weekend.
"With Forbesy in contention, we could go at Hereford with pace up front."
"They went to Aldershot with a defensive line-up and will more than likely do the same here so we have to try and get about them."
