Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope has told ex-Bull Andy Williams he still has a chance to stake a place at the Memorial Ground despite being on the transfer list.
Trollope told the Evening Post: "I have spoken to Andy in the last couple of weeks and the situation is developing for him. We are pleased with his contribution. We knew the ability he had would be good enough for the football club if he could produce it on a regular basis – and I think he has come back in pre-season stronger and fitter and with a better mentality.
"The door is not shut for Andy – he knows that because I have spoken to him in depth about the situation. Maybe Rickie Lambert going for the money he did means we are able to carry him in our budget. When the emergency window opens we are going to look to add another striker."
Williams has started just 19 of 98 League matches since making a £100,000 move from the Bulls in the summer of 2007.
