Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell has denied a press report saying he offered Weymouth £5,000 a month to take his son on as a player. Son Tom plays for Dorchester and has been training with the Cherries, but Weymouth director Paul Cocks says Mitchell snr offered his son and former Dorchester boss Shaun Brooks to the club free of charge in additional to the cash sums in a series of emails.

Grimsby have signed Southampton defender Oliver Lancashire on a one month loan. The England u19 international replaces the departed Ryan Bennett, with the club denying they sold Bennett to keep the money flowing at Blundell Park. Aldershot have lost the services of Spurs' loanee Dean Parrett after the Premier side refused permission for them to keep him for a second month.

Chester chairman Ian Anderson is confident the club will survive Monday's deadline to clear football creditors. Negotiations are ongoing with the Football League and Conference to get money owed to the club channelled to their creditors.
