Bournemouth are in court today for another meeting with the taxman over their debt. The club are hoping for an eight week stay of execution, but the taxman is reported to only be happy with four. Chairman Eddie Mitchell says the club's total debt is down from £1.5million to £1.3million, but they had to spend £5,000 to get the club's bank accounts unfrozen last week. On the field they are believed to want Leicester winger Maxi Gradel back at the club on loan as their second permitted signing. Meanwhile, Cherries striker Brett Pitman has been named League 2 player of the month for September despite firing Michaelmas blanks at Edgar Street.
Accrington Vice-Chairman Peter Marsden has resigned from their board after urging them to accept the fans bid for the club led by shareholder Ilyas Khan. Khan, after a war of words with club owner Dave O'Neill, has withdrawn his offer to clear all club debts. Stanley have just over three weeks to raise £200,000 to meet their tax debt. Darlington have appointed Steve Staunton as their new manager, with Kevin Richardson as his assistant.
Crewe caretaker boss Dario Gradi has suggested he will be in charge at the club for some time. The 68 year old has been coaching their Academy since leaving the first team totally last summer. Cheltenham have secured a loan from a benefactor to ease their cash flow problems. Chairman Paul Baker told the BBC he 'couldn't be bothered' to complete the paperwork to finalise the loan they had agreed with the council.
