Northampton have confirmed veteran coach Malcolm Crosby as their new assistant manager. He originally came to the club last month to assist new boss Ian Sampson. Lincoln's assistant boss Ian Pearce has signed a playing contract with the club. The former West Ham man last played a League match in February 2008. Chesterfield have offered trialist Terrell Lewis a one year deal.

Port Vale's teenage keeper Daniel Lloyd-Weston is on trial with Man Utd. Notts County have appointed PR company Macesport to handle their media affairs. The company also looks after Leicester and West Brom. Crewe have lost the services of Bolton keeper Adam Bogdan after the Trotters chose to recall him. Grimsby are to loan out strikers Danny North and Peter Bore. Both are on the fringes of the first team, with North the striker who scored against the Bulls in September.

Accrington vice-chairman Marcelle Lazarus says that existing people within the club are likely to come up with £120,000 in funds to help their cause, but they need a serious investor to plug the gap to their tax debt. Their latest accounts show a loss of over £150,000 for the 07/08 season, and debts to the summer of 2008 of over £750,000.

Chester have signed former Bulls striker Mark Beesley on loan from Cambridge. He worked with Jimmy Harvey at Forest Green. The club have also named Ian Anderson as their chairman, with owner Stephen Vaughan not taking a place on the board. The BBC report that both the club's parachute payment and the handout from the Premier League have been refused to the club over their ongoing debts to other clubs.
