Caretaker boss Ian Sampson has been named as Northampton's permanent manager until the end of the season.
Since taking over from Stuart Gray a month ago Sampson has won only one of the five games, conceding 15 goals in the process. The 40 year old is something of a club legend, having played over 400 times in ten years as a player until 2004 then joining the coaching staff.
In other news Bournemouth have had a six week adjournement granted for their winding up order from the taxman, but it more disappointing news for the club the Football League have withdrawn permission for them to sign a second loan player.
