James Walker is not returning to Edgar Street at least for the time being. The Southend striker is to stay at Roots Hall and fight for a place in their team.
"James returned for training today," confirmed manager Steve Tilson.
"Obviously we are very light on numbers at the moment so that is welcomed.
"However, what pleased me the most was that he genuinely wants to come back here and fight for his place.
"He's played some games and scored some goals which will have boosted his confidence and fitness.
"Hereford were keen to keep him and extend his loan but James wanted to come back and we are pleased to welcome him."
Whilst with the Bulls Walker scored twice, one in the League against Dagenham and one in the Trophy match against Aldershot.
