David Brown played the full 90 minutes for Forest Green as they beat Mansfield 1-0 in their FA Cup replay, with Marcus Palmer and former trialist Tomi Ameobi both unused subs. John McCombe, Kris Taylor and Lee Collins are also both in the Second Round after Port Vale beat Stevenage 1-0. The Valiants could only name six subs due to injuries, with Taylor getting booked.
Craig Stanley was booked as Morecambe dipped out of the cup, 1-0 at home to Carlisle with the 5th minute winner coming from Joe Anyinsah. Tamika Mkandawire and Mark Robinson both saw their sides lose in the FA Cup from the sidelines. Leyton Orient lost at home to Tranmere 1-0, while Brentford hammered Robinson's Gateshead 5-2.
In other news Shrewsbury will need a loan keeper for next week's trip to Edgar Street after reserve stopper Chris Neal was ruled out for six weeks with a broken finger. Senior stopper Glyn Garner is still out with a shoulder injury, leaving untested rookie Andreas Arestidou as the only pro keeper at the club.
