I'm pleased to be through says Boothroyd

Colchester manager Aidy Boothroyd gave his reaction to his side's 1-0 win at Edgar Street this afternoon.

"I'm delighted about it," Boothroyd told BBC Radio Essex. "This was no easy game.

"There had been a few noises in the local press that they (Hereford) fancied their chances. They've got a good home record and it is these games that we must win if we're to win a league.

"Without being disrespectful, we have to put these lesser teams to the sword.

"To score when we did was perfect and I'm just pleased to be through.

"I thought we were by far the stronger team in the last half hour.

"I know they had chances and they hit the bar a couple of times."

Reminded that the U's failed to take their chances in the first half Boothroyd said that was a worry.

"You think here we go again, is it going to be one of those days, the cameras are here, the rain is starting to come down, you think there is going to be a Ronnie Radford moment.

"Thankfully we were tough enough to get the result."
