Accrington joint chairman Marcelle Lazarus has quit the club. A marketing expert, Lazarus was brought into the club in the summer to raise the club's profile, but she told the local press: "It wasn't what I thought it was going to be and enough is enough. I've decided to walk away". Owner Dave O'Neill is also under pressure to quit the club following his failure to secure funds for their tax bill.
Port Vale are to extend the loan of Bristol Rovers striker Lewis Haldane for a third month. The 24 year old has scored just once in twelve games for the club so far. Valiants defender Sam Stockley is reported to be about to quit the game on medical grounds. The BBC report that he is still suffering from an eye problem that needed surgery in the summer, but he played the full 90 minutes of yesterday's draw with Dagenham.
Brighton have sacked manager Russell Slade after eight months in charge. Only goal difference is currently keeping them out of the relegation zone in League One. He won just nine of 31 games in charge. Merthyr Tydfil have told their players they will have to take a 50% pay cut to keep the club running. Press reports say the Zamaretto League side will have a playing budget of £900 a week after the cut.
