Firstly John Trewick for Hereford United:
"We took a little while to settle and up until the 42nd minute I was quiet comfortable and then we conceeded a very poor first goal," Trewick told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"We seem to wobble a little bit and conceeded another from a corner very very quickly right on the stroke of half-time.
"For them to go in 2-0 at half-time when we probably had 75% of the ball without creating too much was a big blow.
"We had a think at half-time about how we were going to go about it and we were hoping for an early break through in the second half.
"Then we conceeded another, for me, very poor goal."
Trewick made three substitutions shortly afterwards.
"I have to give credit to the people who came on. I thought Sam Gwynne and Gavin McCallum, worked very very hard and did a good job for us and Leon got his goal.
"So there were one or two bright areas but it's really annoying to have as much of the ball and not get anything from the game and allow ourselves to be beaten 3-1 with the nature of the goals that we conceeded.
"We suffered from a little bit of grit both upfrount and in defence.
"Had we been out-played we would have taken that but we lost because of other things - our failure to get in the box with intent and to defend with intent and purpose at the other end of the field."
Secondly a few words from Macclesfield's Keith Alexander:
"I think we've mostly been playing well recently without getting the result and I told the players that we needed to win today even if we had to win ugly.
"And to be fair to them we played some nice stuff at times and scored the goals when the chances came along. I was delighted overall with the performance and certainly delighted with the win."
