Sven To Be At Edgar Street

Sven Goran Ericsson will be at Edgar Street despite the dispute over payments currently casting a shadow over his Notts County tenure.

The former England manager has demanded payment of fees into the millions from Swiss Commodity Holdings. He has a contract with the club itself that Executive Chairman Peter Trembling says is paid up to date but the additional deal with SCH, in which Ericsson acts as an ambassador for the company, is the one in question.

Trembling told the press: "There are frustrations with the parent company, that cannot be denied, and they do need ironing out, and they are being ironed out.

"Sven is most certainly being paid by Notts County, but other issues involving shares and payments linked to the parent company are issues for Sven rather than the football club. Sven is not about to walk out, but I cannot comment about issues outside of the football club."

The situation echoes the claims surrounding Sol Campbell's sudden departure from the club. In interviews he suggested non-payment was the reason behind his departure, and he and the club settled their differences this week to see his registration released by the club - but the actual terms of the settlement have not been disclosed.
