News Round Up

Darlington have released veterans Lee Thorpe and Steve Foster. Defender Foster has not played for the club since refusing to waive a clause in his contract guaranteeing him a contract for next season if he played two more games, while Thorpe has not featured for the club for nearly three months. Lincoln have received just over £50,000 from their branded savings accounts with the Norwich and Peterborough Building Society. In 11 years, they have made over £900,000 from the scheme.

Bournemouth's Supporters Trust have issued a statement expressing concern at the board's decision to use next season's ticket money to clear debts, and what they claim are conflicting statements about levels of debt. They cite a statement last August that the club had cleared it's tax liability, only to get a further £314,000 demand last week. Ex-Bull Joe Anyinsah is expected to miss the Johnstones Paint Trophy final with Carlisle as he needs surgery on a groin injury.

Shrewsbury have extended the loan of Spurs keeper David Button until the end of the season. Kristian O'Leary, the former Swansea midfielder who has interested John Trewick, is trialling with Cheltenham and will play in a training match at Birmingham tomorrow. Notts County owner Ray Trew says he has already put £1million into the club, and he expects the figure to rise. He had to pay February's wage bill, as well as settling a £54,000 debt to brewers Marstons.

Chesterfield have opted not to extend the loan of Bristol City midfielder Frankie Artus after a month. He played three times, but didn't get back into the XI after being sent off.
