Ten Conference clubs have appealed to the FA over their loss of points when Chester were thrown out of the league. The ten are said to include top two Stevenage and Oxford, with the clubs complaining that it is too far through the season to make decisions to remove points - citing a precedent in 2005 when the Northern League had to reinstate the points. The Conference themselves have acknowledged the appeal, but have made no further statement. They are also facing similar action by Conf North side Fleetwood over Farsley Celtic's similar demise.
Bradford have opened negotiations with Peter Taylor over extending his tenure into next season and beyond. Initial talks are said by the club to be over the level of budget he will be allowed next season. Bromsgrove Sporting, the fans club set up to rival Bromsgrove Rovers, have applied to the local council to use Rovers' Victoria Park ground next season as the current lease expires in the summer.
Relegation haunted Tranmere drew 0-0 with Hartlepool last night to move them two points clear of the League One relegation zone. The monkey hangers are a point further clear. Aldershot pair Danny Hylton and Anthony Straker have signed new one year deals for next season. Grimsby have signed MK Dons defender Jude Stirling on loan for the rest of the season.
Cheltenham have signed striker Louis Almond from Blackpool on loan until the end of the season. The 18 year old has just signed his first pro contract with the Tangerines.
