Lincoln defender Moses Swaibu has told the Lincolnshire Echo he has enjoyed playing with veteran defender Ian Pearce.
Pearce, 35, left the professional game after an unsuccessful trial at Brentford in the summer of 2008 and went back to boyhood club Oxford and District FC. He then moved up to Kingstonian before becoming Chris Sutton's no.2 at Lincoln before being pressed into his first League matches in nearly two years as their defensive problems got worse. Pearce is one of three central defenders likely to be missing tonight, with Swaibu telling the paper:
"Myself and Ian have formed a good partnership over the last two games, against Rochdale and Crewe, but all the players work hard together in training, every day, and at some point during the season there is the likelihood that you will be playing alongside each other.
"I came in after Adam Watts was injured at Grimsby and myself and Danny (Hone) had played previously together at Chesterfield and did okay. Hopefully tomorrow night we will be able to put in good performances again."
"He (Pearce) has a big presence and when he speaks, you listen. He has been there and done it, won the Premier League with Blackburn Rovers. As a young player, I look up to players like him."
Danny Hone is likely to partner Swaibu in the centre of the defence tonight, with untried 18 year old youth teamer Greg Enstone as the only fit backup. Along with three central defensive injuries, ex-Darlington man Clark Keltie and striker Lennel John-Lewis will also miss the game although Paul Green may return from injury.
