In the 24 hours since the Bulls were effectively put up for sale, Bulls fans will be pleased to know some of the more 'debatable' faces of football club ownership have been taken out of the running.
With former Chester owner Stephen Vaughan out on bail, but a long term disqualified director, another ex-Chester man has been sidelined. Mark Guterman, who owned Chester and was also chairman at Wrexham, has been banned as a director for seven years this week after opting not to fight claims made by a Government department. Fellow rogue Alex Hamilton, the former Wrexham owner who attempted to misappropriate the Racecourse ground, is fighting the claims but faces a longer ban.
Meanwhile serial club hunter John Batchelor is reported to have died this week. The 51 year old previously wanted to rename Accrington as Lancashire United, and turn Mansfield into Harchester United as well as making moves to buy Rotherham, Macclesfield, and Chester. He did buy one club, York City, destroying it's finances during his short spell there. He was banned from acting as a company director last December.
