News Round Up

Two current League Two managers are reported in the newspapers to be on the move. Crewe boss Dario Gradi is claimed to be wanted by Celtic to be technical director alongside rookie boss Neil Lennon, while Notts County have targeted Bradford boss Peter Taylor to be their new manager just weeks after he signed a new contract at Valley Parade.

Accrington assistant boss Jimmy Bell has warned the club that he and manager John Coleman will leave if their new contracts are not sorted out soon. Bell says the pair have been in discussions with the club for six months. Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler will cut his squad down to 20 or 21 players for the coming season from around 30 last term. He has also named his ex-Dover assistant Darren Hare as youth team manager at Priestfield and will also bring physio Paul Smith to the club.

Rotherham boss Ronnie Moore says he wants to cut his professional side down to 18, with 12 of his 25 contracted players out of contract this summer. Fleetwood signing Ian Craney says he turned down a League One side to sign for the Conference new-boys. York say they would like to sign Salisbury's Matt Tubbs, but his wages are far more than anyone at the club currently gets.

Colchester have named former Cheltenham boss John Ward as their new manager. He was assistant to previous boss Aidy Boothroyd, and will have current coach Joe Dunne as his no.2. Departing Northampton striker Adebayo Akinfenwa wants to play nearer his London home, but admits that three SPL sides have expressed an interest and he may end up there.

Shrewsbury striker Nathan Elder wants to be back playing before the end of the year. He had cruciate ligament surgery ten days ago, with doctors telling him he wouldn't play until 2011.
