News Round Up

Bournemouth are running 'alternative' season awards on their website. The Bulls get a nomination for worst kit for the orange away strip. Crewe are claimed to be on the verge of selling duo John Brayford and James Bailey to Derby for a combined £1million fee. Lincoln are heading the chase for Rotherham striker Drewe Broughton, who had a seven game loan spell at the Imps without scoring.

Dagenham have signed Grays striker Alex Osborn on a three year deal. The 16 year old played 11 times for Grays first team, scoring twice, as they failed to escape relegation. Southend defender Simon Francis has turned down a new contract with the club and looks set to leave. Accrington are to move their much derided Police control box this week under threat of court action. Their plans to replace the temporary structure with a permanent one have been delayed, so the existing box will be moved to a new location on the site.

Southend have released defender Osei Sankofa after they decided not to offer him a new deal. Bristol Rovers have released keepers Steve Phillips, who is expected to sign for Crewe, and Rhys Evans, and Aaron Lescott, and have put winger Mark Wright on the transfer list. Chester say they have received applications from former Football League managers to take charge of their phoenix club. They do not currently know which league they will be playing in.

Torquay have released seven, and are in negotiations with more players regarding contracts for next season. Most of the seven spent the second half of the season out on loan or already on the transfer list. Shrewsbury have offered new deals to five players including top scorer Dave Hibbert. Five more have been released including Jake Simpson, son of ex-boss Paul, and defender Graham Coughlan.

A legal fight is brewing at Histon. The club advertised their manager's job despite Alan Lewer still being in charge. He says he still has a contract for the coming season and has refused to re-apply for the job. Bury say they expect to lose defender, and club captain, Stephen Dawson after they failed to win promotion. The out of contract Irishman is already talking to other clubs.

Crewe's players are to have just two weeks off this summer. The squad will start training two days a week from May 24th before full pre-season training starts in July. Forest Green Rovers have been put up for sale, with an advert appearing in the Financial Times. The club had been trying to raise £250,000 through a share sale, but is now trying to find an outright buyer to refinance the club. Rumours surfaced this week that they will remain in the Conference when another club withdraws from the league.

Exeter have released nine players including striker Craig McAllister and midfielder Manny Panther. Ex-Bull Bertie Cozic has been offered a new contract.
