Crewe have invited trialist Jimmy McCarthy to join them for pre-season training. The 24 year old has been playing in the lower reaches of the Unibond league with Warrington. Accrington have given their players a deadline of next weekend to accept or reject their new deals. They have offered a contract to in-demand striker Billy Kee, but the player has hinted that they are unlikely to win the chase as their facilities are not good enough.

Stevenage are to sign released Scunthorpe winger Peter Gain on a one year deal. The 21 year old spent most of the season on loan at Gateshead, but has rejected a contract offer from them. Lincoln's Supporters Trust are attempting to raise the £20,000 cost of frost covers that are required by all clubs for the coming season. The club have warned that the money will come out of Chris Sutton's budget if they fail to cover the cost.

Cardiff's shareholders have agreed to the new investment into the club at today's EGM. Peter Ridsdale has now left the club, with the new investors expected to cover the £1.9million tax debt that sees them back in court on June 16th. Port Vale have signed released Bristol Rovers striker Sean Rigg on a two year deal. The 21 year old scored three times in 26 appearances during a five month loan at Vale Park.

Scunthorpe say they have turned down 'four or five' bids for Gary Hooper. Various newspapers are claiming that Wolves, Wigan, and Middlesboro are heading the hunt after the Iron previously denied Celtic had made a bid. Yeovil have arranged to play ten reserve games against Dorchester Town over the course of next season in place of a regular reserve league, which they exited last summer.

Bury striker Andy Bishop is a target of relegated Grimsby. The former York man started only 12 games in an injury hit season and is believed to be available due to financial constraints at Gigg Lane. Chesterfield have signed released Oldham midfielder Danny Whitaker on a two year deal. He worked with current Spireites boss John Sheridan at the Latics.
