Keyte expected to miss Malta AGM?

New Hereford United chairman, David Keyte, is expected to miss the Football League's AGM this weekend. The meeting will have probably come too soon for Keyte who was only installed in his new position yesterday.

According to Ciderspace - The Football League's Annual General Meeting and Summer Conference will take place over this weekend and early next week. The League's Chairmen and Chief Executives from each of the 72 clubs taking part in the 2010-11 season will be having their Summer Holiday Conference on the Mediterranean island of Malta between June 6th and June 8th at the Westin Dragonara Resort. These clearly are difficult economic times that the country's football clubs are having to work under.

The deal has been arranged in conjunction with the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA), who in exchange will receive on-line advertising on all of the 82 official websites run under the PTV banner. Andy Williamson, Chief Operating Officer of The Football League has said of the plans to hold the AGM in Malta:

"We are delighted that this partnership enables us to hold our Summer Conference on the beautiful island of Malta. Taking our clubs away, through the support of the MTA, allows Chairmen and Chief Executives to focus on the important decisions facing the game today."
