News Round Up

Middlesboro are claimed to be front runners to sign Gary Hooper from Scunthorpe. Sunday papers reported that he has been given a tour of their facilities. Millwall are ready to make a move for Tamika Mkandawire, with the defender considering a new deal at Leyton Orient. Chris Hargreaves has held talks with Tiverton Town over their vacant managerial job. He has also been approached by an unnamed Conference side about a player-manager role.

Gillingham want to sign former loanee Darren Dennehy and are waiting on an answer from Cardiff whether it can be a loan or permanent signing. Stevenage manager Graham Westley has signed a new two year deal with the club. The club have also agreed a two year deal with released Mansfield defender Luke Foster.

Press reports say that the Conference are to amend their 'Appendix E' rule that has seen Salisbury and Northwich thrown out for failing to pay creditors. The amendment is said to give sides three years to pay off debts rather than the current end of season deadline. Macclesfield have reported that their ground was broken into twice over the weekend, with thieves smashing windows and stealing stock from the bar and power tools from the groundsman's shed.

Crewe have confirmed talks with an unnamed central defender that will cost them a fee. They have previously been linked with Peterboro's Exodus Geohaghon. They are also to give a trial to released Bolton full back Chris Stokes, 19.
