News Round Up

Gillingham have stolen their second Dover manager in a month after they named Ian Hendon as their new no.2 to Andy Hessenthaler. Former Barnet boss Hendon was recommended to Dover by Hessenthaler with Dover chairman Jim Parmeter saying that, after Hessenthaler took a youth coach and Hendon, a line had been crossed. Dover have named former Arsenal player Martin Hayes as their third boss in a month.

Barnet have offered full back Kenny Gillet a new deal after initially releasing the player before Mark Stimson was appointed as manager. Morecambe have released midfielder Henry McStay after an injury hit season saw him make just four appearances. Former Bulls midfielder Bertie Cozic has signed a new six month contract at Exeter.

Histon chief executive Alan Soraff has again denied the club is about to enter Administration. Despite having to release a string of high earners, and losing substantial investment into the club, they intend to remain full time for the coming season. Peterboro have revealed some of the 'loan fees' that clubs have paid for use of their players. Torquay paid £25,000 to loan Scott Rendell last season, while Gillingham paid a similar figure for Rene Howe for six months. They also report that Oxford paid £50,000 for winger Alfie Potter after his loan last term, while Liam Hatch's loan at Luton cost the Hatters £60,000.

Crewe have signed Morecambe defender Dave Artell on a free transfer. He turned down a new deal with the Shrimps to sign a two year deal at Gresty Road. The Irish Premiership is to introduce a 60% salary cap along similar lines of League Two. Bury have lost another player after midfielder Brian Barry-Murphy turned down their offer and signed for Rochdale instead after six years at Gigg Lane.
