The 21 year old full back spent the first half of 2010 in the US after leaving Pride Park after only two first team appearances. Northampton have confirmed the signing of veteran defender Marcus Hall on a one year deal. The 34 year old has around 400 appearances under his belt, mostly in the Championship.

Cardiff want their Carling Cup trip to Burton called off as they do not have enough players. Due to their transfer embargo and international call-ups they expect to have just 15 players left barring injuries. The Crewe Mad site is claiming that Shrewsbury have had an £80,000 bid accepted for winger Joel Grant, and that the Shrews are to sign former Crewe defender Danny O'Donnell on a six month deal.

Port Vale defender Richie Sutton has picked up a six match ban after being sent off for former side Nantwich on the last day of last season. It was his fourth dismissal of the season, leading to the hefty ban. Southend have added defenders Mark Phillips and Luke Prosser to the list of players on one year pre-contracts. Phillips, 28, was released by Brentford, while Prosser, 22, spent most of last season on the transfer list at Port Vale and ended the season at Kidderminster. They now have 14 players awaiting the lifting of their embargo, and will sign a 15th in Plymouth defender Chris Barker on loan.

Released Bulls midfielder Craig Jones played 82 minutes for Worcester in their friendly with AFC Liverpool.
