FC Boro, an excellent Stevenage website, put the following questions to a Hereford United supporter in advance of tomorrow's meeting between the two clubs at Edgar Street.
It’s been a poor start to the season for you. Why do you think that is?
Simply, we don’t look like scoring. We’ve netted three this season – one from a corner, one penalty and Saturday’s flukey free kick. Not a single goal from open play.
Simon Davey joined in the summer, but there are already calls for his head. How much time will he be given to get it right?
People started calling for his head after five games, which is a bit early for anyone to be judged. Three games later and it’s still too early to make a move in my book. We’ve had a lot of change over the summer - new board, manager, 20 new players – and it needs time for everyone to settle.
What was Hereford’s aim at the start of the season?
Top ten was touted pre-season. It was generally considered to be a two year ‘project’ with a proper promotion push next term once the new arrivals had found their feet.
Who is your key player?
If it wasn’t for keeper Adam Bartlett we’d probably be totally pointless. On the attacking side Guillem Bauza is clearly too good for League Two after just two games.
Are there any injuries/suspensions on Tuesday night?
Captain Janos Kovacs is definitely out. Midfielder O’Neill Thompson has been ‘taken out of the firing line’ by Davey. Kenny Lunt comes back after suspension.
It’s been a few years since we visited Edgar Street. Has anything changed?
Not a lot. The catering is better. The god-awful Lindley have been dumped for a local firm.
Lastly, what is your prediction for the game?
We need a positive result of any variety. 1-0 win with a deflected goal off a pigeon will do.
