Admittedly there have only been three games at Edgar Street this season to date, and one of those was a Carling Cup match, but this afternoon's match against Oxford United will attract by far the highest attendance of this campaign to date.
The opponents are expected to bring in the region of 1100 supporters which added to the home support should mean a gate in excess of 3500.
And had the club announced that the game was now pay on the gate for home supporters a couple of days earlier, which would have allowed better coverage of their change of heart in the local media, the gate might even be slightly higher.
Meanwhile Hereford United manager Simon Davey has said he's not interested in the vacant Wales job. Earlier this week his name was quoted at 14/1.
"I am concentrating on this job here," he said.
"I can’t be looking at anything else at the moment. This is the most important thing."
As for this afternoon's game, Davey is hopeful of a change of fortunes after last Saturday's disappointing defeat at Burton.
"Oxford at home will be a good atmosphere and we are back on our own ground.
"We need to get a goal and a positive result."
The game kicks off at 3pm and, as previously reported, Hereford United supporters can pay on the gate.
