News Round Up

Grimsby have reported a loss of £40,000 for last season despite receiving transfer fees of over £550,000. Their total debt now stands at £2.6million after losing £600,000 the season before, and the shareholders report states that the club is entirely reliant on handouts from the current board to continue trading. As a result, the two main shareholders are to convert loans to new shares that will see the pair hold 80% of the club's shares.

Barnet's ex-Bulls defender Darren Dennehy has been ruled out for at least a couple of months after tearing a ligament in his foot. He was withdrawn after 20 minutes of last Saturday's win over Cheltenham. Ilkeston Town have confirmed that they have appealed against their winding up order. Tomorrow's match has been postponed, and the Official Receiver has also confirmed that they will try to sell the club as a going concern.

It's a bit late for Valentines Day, but Lionel Ainsworth doesn't mind sharing the love, telling the BBC: "Graham Turner means everything to me. He gave me my chance at Hereford United. He encouraged me and made me realise I can fulfil my potential and be a good footballer." Sheff Weds' supporters trust has urged the club to add three people it has recommended to the club's board so that they can help the search for new funding.

Boston have announced that they are arranging for replica shirts to be made in sizes 5XL and 8XL due to supporter demand. The sizes are available for special order. Former Bulls loanee James Walker has signed a three month deal with Leyton Orient after a trial spell. The 22 year old has been without a club since being released by Southend in May.
