The Manchester press are speculating that both Jimmy Harvey and Jimmy Quinn will be candidates for the vacant Altrincham post. In an article in the NLP the club is claimed to have had a playing budget last season of £6,300 a week over the 38 week season with only four sides having smaller budgets this term - Histon, Southport, Tamworth, and Bath.

Port Vale boss Micky Adams is pushing for former Bulls loanee Lee Collins to sign a new contract with the club. The 21 year old is out of contract at the end of the season and has been attracting interest from Championship sides. The Valiants four successive away wins to start this season is a club record. Conf South side Welling have been docked five points for filing inaccurate financial returns to the Conference. The charges came over a debt to the HMRC that the club say is due to promised investment not materialising.

Former Bulls loanee Peter Gulacsi made a second loan move to Tranmere on Friday, and was guilty of dropping the ball - literally - for Charlton's equaliser at the weekend.
