Hall Joins Sky Sports

Well known Hereford United supporter Keith Hall has become a Sky Sports blogger. He already reports for BBC Hereford and Worcester, runs the Vital Hereford United site and also does commentary for the blind at home games.

His first blog for Sky is titled 'Lets Get Physio'.

In it he charts the events surrounding the summer changes at Edgar Street and the eventual promotion of physio Jamie Pitman to care-taker manager.

But in June, seemingly weary of chairmanship and managerial stewardship after 15 years of diligent service, Turner upped sticks.

In swooped a new dynamic 'directors duo' consisting of self made businessman David Keyte, and television presenter Tim Russon. Tremendous enthusiasm ensued. The new Hereford board moved swiftly to bring in the former Barnsley boss Simon Davey. A new broom. A new team. Perhaps, even a new beginning.

But after a first day victory at Crewe everything went wrong for Davey.

No-one can pointpoint exactly why, where and precisely when, but the Bulls spun out of control. On the pitch discipline appeared to go out of the window. A catalogue of individual errors were seized on instantly by both the opposition, and Davey himself. Team systems, tactics, and personnel changed rapidly. All of the goodwill generated by the glorious summer of 2010 was in danger of dissipating.

It was the Barnet game that was the final straw for Davey.

Swift action was necessary, and to their credit Keyte and Russon were not about to duck the issue. Davey was sacked on the Monday, but who to bring in?

In the end, up stepped sports therapist Jamie Pitman, and what a transformation.

Hall then reflects on how Pitman has matured.

I will always recall Pitman making his Hereford debut in September 1996 against Rochdale as one fan turned to and asked: 'Who's the kid in midfield? It looks as though he's just finished his paper round!'

Now he is in charge and Hall finished his article with four vital words - 'in Pitman we trust'.
