Hartlepool cancelled a meeting to discuss their court case with Billingham Town just 20 minutes before it was due to start. The monkey hangers say that a council official was not available, but the Northern League side say that no council attendance was required. Bristol City have announced a loss of £11.8million for last season, citing investment in the playing squad as the major factor.

Tony James is likely to play for Burton this weekend as veteran defender Darren Moore is suspended.
