Pitman encourages Manset

Hereford United striker Mathieu Manset missed a couple of reasonable chances in the game against Aldershot last might, but care-taker manager Jamie Pitman isn't unhappy with his performance.

"You've got to be in there to miss a few," Pitman told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"I'm not worried about that at all, we've all missed them.

"We'll have days when you score them and you don't. That's not just Mathieu but the group of players.

"I'm not going to point a finger at anybody, I'd rather him keep missing but being in there."

Pitman said his team had a lot of chances.

If we had scored another when we were 2-1 up the game would have been dead an buried.

"I am not going to be harsh on my team. They put in a good shift against a good Aldershot side.

"I am disappointed that we did not win. I told the players I have standards and I want those standards to get higher and they feel the same."

Pitman also confirmed that Guillem Bauza had returned to his home in Minorca for treatment on his groin injury.
