We have a point to prove says Pitman

After two defeats in four days Hereford United will want to get back to winning ways on Saturday with a victory over Lincoln City in the FA Cup.

A win for the Bulls would be worth worth £27,000 and, perhaps more importantly, a place in the draw for the third round when the Premiership and Championship clubs enter the competition.

With Ryan Green suspended, Bryon Webster cup-tied and several other players still out with injuries, manager Jamie Pitman has strengthened his squad with two loanees. However despite losing to Bury 5-0 last Tuesday, Lincoln City will be tough opponents.

However having played them last Saturday at least Pitman will know what they are like.

"It's another game but there should be a bit of fight in our bellies because we got beaten up there," Pitman told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"We have a point to prove, we are not a bad side.

"We need to get back to what we were doing regularily three or four weeks ago."

Pitman has also spoken to the Worcester News about the cup-tie.

"We want to get into the third round and get the big dream tie," he said.

"To do that we need to perform to our potential. Our only home win has come in the FA Cup so hopefully we can keep winning in the competition.

"We are going to go into the game as prepared as we always do but hopefully a little bit better than we have in the last couple of games."
