We were the better team thought Yates

Cheltenham manager Mark Yates gave his opinion on this afternoon's game to the press.

"I'm disappointed that we haven't won the game," said Yates as reported by the Robins OS.

"We were outstanding today bar the first minute and the 47th minute. We passed it to death and got in a few times but couldn't find a killer touch. In the second half we gave ourselves a little mountain to climb by conceding a bad goal. The pitch was a bit heavy and we couldn't zip it around as much as we wanted to but some of our play was terrific. I think we were the better team.

"It was a poor goal on our part. Their right-back flick-headed it and somehow it took our back four out of the game. Josh was underneath the ball for some reason and then we failed to clear our lines. The ball came back out and they've scored from six yards. We're just disappointed that in the 47th minute our back four weren't as together as they were in the rest of the game.

"Andy Gallinagh played the lad Manset superbly and apart from the goal I don't think he's had a kick today.

"I fancied us before the game, at half-time and when we scored. I was trying to think of ways to be more attacking. It was a good game in the second half. We had most of the possession but they broke onto us several times so we had to stand up to the test. They are a decent side but I thought we were the better team on the day."
