It is being reported tonight that Aldershot are to name Dean Holdsworth as their new manager.
The Newport boss is reported to have quit his role at Spytty Park tonight in favour of a move into League management with the Shots. The 42 year old has been at the club since May 2008, winning promotion from Conf South in the summer.
BBC Radio Wales is reporting that Holdsworth, who has 18 months left on his contract, will be unveiled at the Rec tomorrow with the Newport board holding emergency discussions en route to their match at Tamworth tonight.
Update: Aldershot have announced that they have 'agreed in principle' to Holdsworth becoming their next manager. Newport say they have agreed terms with the Shots and the deal is now down to Holdsworth and the Shots agreeing personal terms.
