Kenny Lunt, who spent three years with the Owls, is hoping that Hereford United can pull off a victory against Sheffield Wednesday this afternoon and so follow Ronnie Radford and the Bulls squad from 1972 into the history books.
"Everybody remembers the Ronnie Radford goal – it was the club’s finest hour," said Lunt as reported by the Daily Star.
"But, hopefully, we can create our own piece of history this weekend.
"It is a big game and one we are going to enjoy. We are underdogs because Wednesday are a massive club, but we believe we can pull off another upset.
"It would have been nice to get a big Premier League team, but Hillsborough is a great stadium to play at and holds special memories for me.
"We will be taking a lot of fans up there and hopefully we will give them plenty to cheer about."
