Port Vale say they have already received 22 applications for their vacant managerial post, with Martin Allen among those applying. Chairman Bill Bratt says they will seek an experienced candidate. Morecambe have extended the loan of striker Jimmy Spencer until the end of the season. The Huddersfield youngster has been a bit player during the first half of the season for the Shrimps, starting three League games and scoring once.

Darlington have beaten off Grimsby to seal the permanent signing of Peterboro striker Liam Hatch. The former Barnet man had agreed a two and a half year deal with the Mariners but opted for an 18 month contract with the Quakers after deciding he was settled in the area. The undisclosed fee is based on the Quakers winning promotion. Bradford have reported season ticket sales of close to 6,000 after offering £110 tickets up to midnight last night.

Macclesfield have signed Chesterfield full back Dan Gray on a months loan. The 21 year old came through the youth ranks with the Spireites, making 53 appearances, but has featured only three times this season.
