News Round Up

Kidderminster say they have received virtually all the funding they need to finish the season. Director Keith Chandler says the club are only 'marginally short' of the full £155,000 they needed to continue and now have plenty of breathing space to get the rest. Their supporters trust has called for fans to fill out Aggborough this Saturday for their game with Altrincham to show support for the team.

Cheltenham manager Mark Yates has denied making any move for Kidderminster striker Chris McPhee. Southend's chief executive Tara Brady has told the press the club has cut losses from £200,000 a month to under £100,000. Figures given to the press say their wage bill is £1.35million a season.

Stockport are reported to have signed Southend striker Matt Paterson on loan. The 21 year old Scot is claimed to have rejected a move to Stevenage to move north. Former Bulls midfielder Craig Stanley has denied that a falling out with manager Sammy McIlroy led to his loan move to Torquay. Speaking to Morecambe's OS, Stanley said he had previously falled out with the Irishman but that was in the past and his move was purely football motivated.

Rotherham are claimed to be on the verge of a swap deal, allowing forward Kevin Ellison to join Bradford in exchange for winger Omar Daley. A lone Plymouth fan took a petition to the Japanese office of their majority owners, but he was turned away at the door. They had promised £2million in funds in four monthly chunks, but the first installment failed to arrive and the second is now also late.

Bury have been dealt a financial blow with the news that the local council will end their nine year sponsorship deal at the end of next season due to government budget cuts. The sponsorship has been worth over £50,000 a season to the Shakers. Burton have signed Wolves forward Sam Winnall on loan for a month. The 20 year old debuted for Wolves in the Carling Cup earlier in the season.

Northampton have loaned midfielder Ryan Gilligan to Torquay for a month. The former Watford trainee has been with the Cobblers for six years, making around 200 appearances, but has drifted out of the first team recently. Prize money details have been released for the Welsh Premier. The winners get just £15,000 for their efforts.

Irish side Sporting Fingal appear to be all but dead after terminating the contracts of their 13 current players just a month before the Irish season begins. The team was created only three years ago and qualified for Europa League qualification rounds in both the last two years, but backer Gerry Gannon was blocked from funding the side further due to government rules brought in after the Irish economy crashed.
