The Football League have sent ten packages of matches out for tender for the next TV contracts due to start in 2012. One of the packages is for a set of Thursday night matches on days when the Europa League is not taking place. Stockport are reported by the BBC to have made a move to appoint Port Vale assistant boss Geoff Horsfield as their new manager. Current caretaker boss Peter Ward is reported to have been considering his position following just one win in ten games.
Shrewsbury have sold 16 year old youth team keeper Mason Springthorpe to Everton for £125,000. Morecambe have signed striker Danny Carlton on a deal to the end of the season. Carlton, who left Bury in January, started his career with the Shrimps and spent five years with the club before moving to Carlisle.
Chesterfield have signed Crystal Palace winger Kieran Djilali on a months loan. The 20 year old played eight times in a similar spell for the Spireites last term. Bradford have reported that both midfielder Dave Syers and striker James Hanson will miss three weeks due to injuries picked up at the weekend. The pair are the Bantams' top two scorers this season.
Rotherham say they have complained to the FA about a challenge by Gillingham man Curtis Weston on keeper Andy Warrington last Tuesday. Boss Ronnie Moore called the challenge a 'horrific stamp' and that Warrington looked like he'd been in a car crash afterwards. Tranmere are to give fans free admission to their rearranged match with Notts County on April 19th. The original game was called off after 55 minutes due to a waterlogged pitch.
Accrington have admitted difficulties meeting it's financial liabilities after a series of postponements over the last few months. Chief Executive Rob Heys has assured fans that none of their prize assets will be offloaded before the summer. Rotherham have signed Watford forward Liam Henderson on a months loan. The 21 year old played once on loan at Aldershot at the start of January, but was deemed to be surplus to requirements when Kevin Dillon was sacked.
In reponse to a fans demonstration after they were docked points for financial irregularities, St Albans' chairman has revealed some financial information about the club. He says the wage bill of £3,500 a week is one of the lowest in Conf South and the club needs gates of 600 to break even - nearly double their current levels. They expect a loss this season of £100,000 which the club's shareholders are expected to cover.
