Should have been all three points said Pitman

Hereford United manager Jamie Pitman felt the Bulls should have taken all three points from the game against Macclesfield last night. The Bulls were 2-1 up despite having captain Townsend sent off then Macclesfield scored virtually at the end of the game.

"It wasn't enjoyable," Pitman told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"We coped with ten men, they didn't have a chance, we made our own downfall in the end."

Pitman was reluctant to talk about the sending off.

"Words were obviously exchanged."

He wasn't too happy with the referee either.

"I thought the referee was inconsistent."

After going down to ten men the Bulls lifted their game and Fleetwood put them ahead.

"It was a great touch and a great finish. He constantly works very hard.

"We had a good spell. It was a game when you didn't think really they were going to get another chance.

"We made our own downfall by making a silly mistake."

With a minute to go the Bulls were awarded a free kick which Rose dispatched right to the far end. This led to Macclesfield's second goal.

"First and foremost you don't need to take it that quickly, Rosey knows that."

Pitman thought sub Harry Pell was 'excellent' when he came on.

"Got the ball for us, won his battle."

The subject of Rob Purdie playing, allegedly without the paperwork being correct, at Torquay last Tuesday was also mentioned.

"We've doing our jobs, we expect everyone else to do theirs. It's very frustrating when something like that happens because it was completely out of our control.

"There's not much we can do about it now, we'll have to see what the outcome is.

"There's nothing we can do about it but I won't be very happy."
