Phillips to Referee on Saturday

Dave Phillips from West Sussex is set to referee next Saturday's League Two game at Edgar Street between Hereford United and Bury.

It will the second time Phillips, who is a policeman, has been in charge of a game at Edgar Street.

The first time was in November 2008 when Cheltenham were defeated 3-0 by the Bulls. Steve Guinan scored a brace that afternoon and the other came from Sam Gwynne, which was his first League goal. However Phillips promptly booked him for celebrating by taking his shirt off.

The Bulls met Phillips last season at Aldershot. The game was drawn 2-2. Tristan Plummer, on loan from Bristol City, scored a goal and also converted a penalty.

To date this season Phillips has refereed 24 games in which he has given out 83 yellow and 7 red cards.
