Some reaction from both Jamie Pitman and Dario Gradi (pictured shaking hands) after today's 1-0 victory by Hereford United over Crewe.
Firstly Pitman:
"We have worked very hard to get the result," said Pitman.
"While I don't like to pick too many out, of the back lads, Michael Townsend in particular was excellent as was Stefan Stam. From that you can build and get your chances, then, if you take them you have a chance of winning the game.
"The crowd got behind us well today and it gave the team a massive lift. I don't think people always realise how important that is to make sure we get something from games."
Secondly Gradi:
"I thought it was a poor game and lacking in atmosphere. I certainly did not think that Hereford were better than us.
"The players worked hard enough but the pitches don't help us much at this time of the year, although this pitch is better than ours.
"They are all bumpy and to get that first-time passing going when the ball is bobbling about is very difficult.
"I thought we defended well. Apart from just that once, our goal was not in any danger and Steve Phillips did not have anything to do - although, after the first few minutes neither did their goalkeeper."
