Both Stuart Fleetwood and Kenny Lunt are expected to start for the Bulls at Gillingham tomorrow. Neither played any part in the 4-0 defeat at Accrington last Wednesday.
Manager Jamie Pitman told BBC Hereford and Worcester that a return to a 4-5-1 formation was possible after he had used a 4-4-2 system at Accrington.
"Fleetwood has played a lot of football. He was very exhausted after last Sunday's game against Crewe. He does a lot of running.
"We just have to make sure, for the rest of the season, we keep people as fresh as possible.
"I've got a competitive squad now.
"Fleetwood has done very well and he's got his rewards but we have to look after him a little bit and make sure he is fresh coming into the run-in of games.
"Not just him, there's Kenny Lunt who's played a lot of football this year."
Pitman also spoke about the debut of loanee striker Jason Price at Accrington.
"He did okay. I don't think we got great service to him first half, second half it was better and he got hold of it very well.
"He's got 60 minutes under his belt. Hopefully he is going to bring a little bit more to the coming games."
Pitman was asked about the long travelling the Bulls have had this week, firstly to Accrington then this afternoon to Gillingham.
"To be honest we could have missed out Hereford, gone from Accrington straight down there.
"It's not an excuse but it's a lot of travelling and it's another consideration. Eight hours on Wednesday, eight hours this weekend."
