Not A Pretty Game said Pitman

Content with a point Hereford United manager Jamie Pitman thought the pitch didn't help the performance of the Bulls this afternoon at the Don Valley Stadium.

"It wasn't a pretty game," Pitman told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"The pitch was a disgrace, six inch pot-holes all over it.

"It was an aerial onslaught which I think we dealt with pretty well.

"We're not the biggest side in the world but we competed very well. We got great blocks in. We worked very hard to get a well-earned point.

"It's just another point. We've gone through a run of games now where we've played probably the top seven or eight and we've picked up points people wouldn't have anticipated we were going to do.

"There's a lot of teams between us and the bottom two. If we can just keep maintaining that I'm sure we will be safe."

Pitman was then asked by Keith Hall whether he felt the pressure was coming off his shoulders.

"No, until it's mathematically safe. Don't forget I was here when we were eleven points clear and we got caught. I'm not going to let the players think that and we're not going to think that as a group of staff.

"If we do that it could come and bite us on the ass."

The next game is against Shrewsbury at Edgar Street next Saturday at 1pm.

"It will be a great occasion with Graham coming back. Hopefully we will have a big crowd. Being a local derby both I and the players are looking forward to it."

Finally Pitman said he hoped Ryan Green would be available for the game.
